Here in New Hampshire it is unheard of to see a Great Grey Owl, usually they are found up in Canada or in the Northwest. As of a few weeks ago there was one spotted here, near the Vermont border. So, knowing the owl has been spotted for a few days straight it was pretty […]
Is it summer yet? Every year I make an annual trip to Acadia Maine on Memorial Day weekend. This year I plan on making my trip in the summer, mainly so I am not freezing and have a better chance of my cruise to see puffins actually happen. Last year, I made the trip and I […]
I am back! Not that I have gone very far, school has just been taking up more time that expected so life has been busy. I have still be out shooting, though not nearly as much as I would like due to weather and school. Sadly, New England did not see much snow this winter […]
I have spent a lot of time visiting the White Mountains each year and always make it a point to stop and see the Mount Washington Hotel. Not once I have ever seen it at night except in pictures. Well the other day I was up there with my family making our yearly trip to […]

Have you ever wondered what to wear on a photo shoot? Well here yeah go. When you have a photo shoot you want to make sure to plan accordingly when selecting the outfits, after all they are going to be what helps make or break the photos. Below are some tips to follow when selecting what to wear:
wear solid colored clothing
choose muted tones that are a bit subdued
choose similar tones for your top and bottom (both dark or both light)
choose 1-3 colours for your group portrait, ones with similar tones that go nicely together and have everyone work within that colour palette. For example: dark green, navy, and burgundy – all dark jewel tones. OR tan, a lighter olive-green, and denim – all lighter, softer tones.
choose a top with sleeves at least to the elbow
choose long pants for men/ladies or a skirt below the knee for ladies
choose dark socks and footwear (unless it’s a barefoot photo on the beach)
keep jewelry simple and minimalist
do your hair the way you’d normally do it while wearing these clothes
if getting a haircut or new hairdo, make your appointment at least 2 weeks prior to your portrait session
Recently, I went on a little hike to explore some more local areas to photograph. I had done a bunch of research and come across a place a few towns over called Tucker Brook Falls. Thankfully this was an easy hike, though it would have been a lot easier had I realized there was a […]
I know I have been quiet lately. Started going back to school in January so that is keeping me from being able to get out as much as I would like. I did, however, finally get out and made a trip with my friend down the Cape to try my hand at some astrophotography. So we hoped in my car and made the trek down to Provincetown. For those who have never been to the Cape, Provincetown is the very tip of the arm. Definitely recommend checking it out, it is one of those quintessential New England towns everyone loves so much. Unfortunately for me I was playing with a brand new camera and couldn’t figure out some of my settings so I did not get as many cool shots as I would have liked, but I was still happy with the few that I did get. One thing I did learn, if it is windy take off the camera strap. Damn winds 😉
Hope you enjoy!
